Only 15,000 students applied science-related courses in IPTA

As reported by Bernama, only 15,000 public university students chose to continue their studies in Technology and Innovation as well as science-related courses.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Science Academy Malaysia Hazami Habib claimed that this situation caused a lack of expertise in these areas due to students not being interested in exploring the three areas.

According to him, 30,000 placements were offered for those fields but only half was filled.

"There are not many students wanting to venture in science field and this has caused the lack of talents in technology and innovation sector.

"Our young generation is more inclined to choose engineering and medical field as their career," said Hazami.
