In the wake of the chain of UPSR exam leakages, the Malaysian Education Ministry is looking for practical ways to avoid potential data leaks. Among the suggestions given is to prohibit Malaysian Examinations Syndicate (MES) officers from carrying communication gadgets when dealing with public examination papers.

The ministry currently welcomes all suggestions while waiting for the findings of the investigations into the leaked UPSR Science, Maths, English, and Tamil papers.  Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan mentioned that the investigation committee will soon come up with their findings.

On Tuesday, Malay Mail reported that the papers could have been photographed by someone who had access to high-security rooms in the Malaysian Examinations Syndicate before releasing them into public domain.

Sources said the papers were compromised because of lax checks in the rooms where the papers were kept, allowing one or more people to photograph them before leaking them to a third party and the social network.
