The Royal Military College (also known as RMC or Malaya's Sandhurst) is a school established to train young Malaysians for service in the Malaysian Armed Forces. The RMC campus covers an area of 1,200 acres (4.9 km2) near the town of Sungai Besi (about 10 miles (16 km) from Kuala Lumpur) with a view of the Mines Resort and the 1998 Commonwealth Games Bukit Jalil Stadium.

RMC shares its grounds with the National Defence University of Malaysia. In the Malay language, it is known as Maktab Tentera Diraja. A current student of RMC is known as a Present Putera, while a graduate of the institution is known as an Old Putera or "OP" in short. The term Putera, literally meaning prince in Malay, is attributed to the RMC's royal status.

This offer is open for male students who are from Form 3 in the year 2016.

Eligibility to apply are as follows:

1. Malaysian Citizen
2. Gender: Male
3. Minimum height: 1.52 m
4. Minimum weight: 40.5 kg
5. Body Mass Index (BMI): 18 to 27
6. Chest size: 74 cm (relaxed) and 79 cm (inhaling)
7. No eyesight defects including near-nearsightedness and colour-blindness
8. Physically healthy and has no medical condition which prevents yourself from very physical activities
9. Achieves good results in PT3 2016 including in the subjects of Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics and Science. Applications may begun to be accepted now, however the results for interview calls are pending to after the results of PT3 has been announced.
10. Priority is given to those who are active in sports, uniform activities, school clubs and music
11. Eligible candidates will be informed via SMS
12. Interview sessions will be conducted for applicants from Peninsular Malaysia (second week of January 2017) and Sabah and Sarawak (third week of January 2017)
13. Only applicants chosen or successful during the interview session will be offered a spot to study in RMC for Form 4 2017
14. Other than being provided the allowance of RM 100 every month, students will also be exempt from any payments (excluding PIBG fees, academic achievement fees, insurance and welfare) throughout their study years. All amenities will be provided FREE OF CHARGE including meals, accommodation, text books, exercise books, note books, and stationery including uniform.

The Charter of the Royal Military College states that the Royal Military College was established with the objective of preparing young Malaysians to become Officers in the Malaysian Armed Forces, hold office in the higher divisions of public service and become leaders in the professional, commercial and industrial life of the country.
