Management and Science University (MSU) has accomplished another outstanding achievement through its debut in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025. This entry is a testament to the university’s commitment to academic excellence, highlighting its strong performance on the world stage.
In the 2025 rankings, MSU is placed in the top 1,000 universities worldwide, specifically in the 801–1,000 band. This ranking is out of 2,092 institutions from 115 countries and territories. There are 185 new entries compared to last year.

MSU is solidifying its position as one of the top institutions in the country, ranking among the top 12 universities in Malaysia, and one of the top five private Malaysian universities out of the 23 universities included in the latest rankings.
THE World University Ranking 3.0 is recognised globally as the most comprehensive evaluation of university performance with 18 carefully calibrated indicators. These indicators assess five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement and international outlook.
The analysis examined 134 million citations from a pool of 16.5 million research publications. In addition, survey responses were collected from 68,402 scholars worldwide, along with data submissions from more than 2,673 institutions, resulting in a total of 411,789 data points.
Additionally, the university also climbed 100 spots in the THE World Impact Rankings 2024, placing within 301-400 and ranking first in Malaysia overall, based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) metric.
The university has consistently maintained a string of accomplishments in the THE Impact Rankings over the past five years, achieving Top 301 in 2019, Top 401 in 2020, Top 602 in 2021, and Top 401-600 in 2022 and 2023.
