  • Malaysia and Vietnam have ventured into an agreement to improve higher education in both countries. The agreement involves exchanging academic staff, researchers and students between the two countries' institutions of higher learning.

Currently, there are over 500 Vietnamese students in Malaysia and with the partnership, 5,000 more students are expected to enroll in Malaysia's private higher learning institutions.

Malaysian students, especially those interested in agricultural studies, can profit from the expertise of higher learning institutions in Vietnam. Such institutions include Hanoi University of Agriculture and Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Sylviculture.

The agreement specifically includes exchange of education literature, teaching aids, information and demonstration materials, the organisation of relevant exhibitions and seminars, credit transfers and similar programmes between recognised institutions of higher learning, and support for mutual assistance in the areas of information and communications technology and technical education.
