Bernama News has reported that the Finance Ministry has approved a per capita grant for STAM subjects. The allocation for each subject is RM3 and there are 23 subjects for STAM.

The Ministry of Education has taken various improvement measures to increase the number of students from religious secondary schools, government schools and government aided schools to sit for the Malaysian Higher Islamic Religious Certificate (STAM).

Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan said among them were implementing the Integrated Curriculum and Tahfiz Integrated Curriculum (KBDKBT) as well as the Form 6 Dini STAM curriculum in these schools beginning this school year.

The ministry had also approved a proposal to place an Arabic speaking teacher in STAM government-aided religious schools beginning 2016, in an effort to improve students' proficiency in Arabic.

"The ministry is prepared to approve applications from schools interested in running KBDKBT and STAM classes if they meet the criteria and conditions set for conducting these classes," he said.
