The Education Ministry is nearing the end of its engagement session to explain the 'Sekolahku Sejahtera' idea, which attempts to address bullying in schools among other things.

Minister Datuk Dr. Radzi Jidin (pix) explained that the notion is not new, but rather aimed at instilling noble principles in students at an early age.

"One of the main reasons for bullying is that certain students act irrationally in a group setting." They believe that when they are in a group, they have the power to bully their peers.

"These classifications are one of the elements that contributed to the current scenario. The students do not believe that what they are doing is incorrect.

"There is no sense of empathy in considering what it feels like to be the one who is bullied or beaten," he remarked today in the Dewan Rakyat as the debate on the Supply Bill 2022 at the ministry's committee level came to a close.

The 'Sekolahku Sejahtera' concept, according to Radzi, consists of 14 aspects that teachers will instill indirectly during classes.

He went on to say that kids who are not currently exposed to bullying symptoms at an early level must make a sensible decision, since bullying symptoms have the greatest influence on themselves, their families, and their future, including the victims of bullying.

"Insya-Allah, in the near future, we will go to the ground and communicate the notion that we want our students to comprehend not just academically but also in life," he continued.

The Dewan Rakyat later passed an estimated operational expenditure of RM47,590,933,700 for the Education Ministry, with more than 20 Members of Parliament participating in the debate.
