MARA will continue providing sponsorships

Although the country faces economic challenges, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) will not stop providing fundings to its sponsored students abroad.

Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub said that even though the allocation for MARA education decreased RM0.4 billion, which is RM 1.7 billion this year compared to RM2.1 billion in 2015, the agency will attempt to obtain additional provisions to cover such needs.

He ensured that the sponsored students will finish their studies and receive facilities and financial aids as usual until they graduate.

In the mean time, he also urged MARA loan recipients to repay their debts to give a chance for others to gain education financial aid.
