Over 3,000 Malaysian students are expected to study in Jordan by the end of this year. It is the highest figure since 1997.
At present there are about 1,700 Malaysian students in Jordan majoring in different fields.
Another 1,329 is expected to arrive in the country. These students will join various universities pursuing studies in Medicine, Dentistry, Islamic Theology, Islamic Finance, Banking and Dentistry among other subjects.
Jordan is becoming an attractive educational destination for Malysians due to its stability and safety, said Malaysian Ambassador Dato Abdul Malek Bin Abdul Aziz.
Malaysia and Jordan have strong educational cooperation which not only extends to students but to lecturers as well.
This October, academicians and university presidents from Jordan and other countries will visit Malaysia for the First ArabMalaysian Global Higher Education Summit.
The summit will try to tackle the issues related to education quality, promotion and accreditation methods and establishment of scientific research centres.
