  • Australian new visa policy will allow foreign graduates to apply for residency in the country which might cause widespread brain drain, deficits and massive emigrations of young people out of Malaysia, according to DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng.
  • The new visa rules will be put in place next year, granting students there the ability to obtain a two to four years working visa upon graduation.
  • The new rule will potentially allow about 20,000 to 30,000 Malaysians to work there after they graduate.
  • The expansion of the skilled graduate visa scheme will help enhance Australia's competitiveness in their A$18 billion (RM57.5 billion) inbound student industry.
