Lucky recipients of Biasiswa Nasional 2015 to serve nation

A total of 50 of the most outstanding students in SPM 2014, involving 40 schools across the country, received an offer letter for the most prestigious scholarship from the Malaysian government, the Biasiswa Nasional 2015.

Muhyiddin said so far a total of 151 top SPM students have received the esteemed scholarship since it was introduced six years ago.

"I am very proud that these students are studying various fields in the world's leading universities including the University of Cambridge and University of Oxford."

So far a total of 145 training programmes have been successful in the development of highly skilled human capital: the Management Apprentice Program (JPA-MAP) involving 42 companies for three months.

These students have been assigned to public service through the initiative of JPA and the Razak School of Government (RSOG) which is the Talent Acceleration in Public Service (TAPS).

In addition, students were also given the opportunity to serve in government-linked companies (GLCs) and the private sector under the Scholarship Talent Attraction and Retention (STAR) programme.

A total of 1,048 GLCs and private companies from various industries were involved in the programme.

"These three initiatives; MAP, TAPS and STAR are platforms in order to ensure the best government-sponsored talents continue to contribute their services to the nation.
