Join Sunway-Oxbridge essay competition 2014

Sunway is calling all secondary school students (13-17 years old) to submit essays on smoking issues starting from 6 July 2014. This is the inaugural Sunway-Oxbridge Essay Competition jointly organised by Sunway Group, The Oxford & Cambridge Society Malaysia, Jeffrey Cheah Foundation, Sunway University and Monash University Malaysia. This competition is also endorsed by the Ministry of Education Malaysia.

How to Enter

  1. Fill in the submission form with your personal details, including full name (according to IC), IC number, contact number, email, home address and school name.
  2. Tell us which category you belong to:
  3. Category A: Form 1 - 3 (aged 13-15 years old)
  4. Category B: Form 4 – 5 (aged 16-17 years old)
  5. Upload your essay into the form provided.
  6. Check the box indicating you have read our terms and conditions, and have received parental consent to join the essay competition.
  7. Answer the math question so we know you are a real human behind the desk.

Essay Question

  • Category A (Form 1 - 3)

As the President of the School Committee, you have been appointed to give a speech on ‘World No-Tobacco Day’. Write a speech in less than 350 words targeted to your schoolmates on the importance of staying away from cigarettes.

  • Category B (Form 4 - 5)

In 650 words or less, tell us why you believe a smoke-free environment is good for everyone.

Terms & Conditions

  • Essay must be submitted to www.sunway.edu.my/essay. No written hardcopy submissions will be accepted. Incomplete submissions will also be automatically deemed ineligible.
  • Submission deadline: 8 August 2014, 1pm. Essays received after the deadline will be automatically deemed ineligible.
