Johan Cruyff Institute for Sports Studies to settle in Iskandar Malaysia

  • Plans of turning Iskandar Malaysia as the first home of Johan Cruyff Institute for Sports Studies (JCI) in Asia is expected to happen soon.
  • Iskandar Investment Berhad’s (IIB) wholly-owned subsidiary, [email protected] Sdn Bhd and Johan Cruyff Institute (JCI) will ink an agreement this 4 September.
  • Moreover, Dutch soccer legend and founder of JCI, Johan Cruyff will witness the signing ceremony.
  • JCI is widely known for its total athlete development programme, specifically for its total football strategy.
  • The Cruyff football court will be located next to Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Khir Johari. It will be the second of such court in Asia after Japan.
  • According to IIB President and CEO Datuk Syed Mohamed, JCI trains athletes, coaches and sports leaders to develop their sports management skills and become educated leaders in the world of sports.
  • The presence of JCI in Malaysia is expected to help boost the region’s sports industry.
  • Graduates of the institute will be accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
  • It will offer certificate to master programmes and provide former and active athletes opportunities to pursue new careers.
