Yayasan Tenaga Nasional scholarships are back!

Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s very own foundation, Yayasan Tenaga Nasional, is pleased to announce that registrations for the Overseas University Program and UNITEN Scholarship are now open.

These scholarships are offered to qualified Malaysian students who are looking to further their studies.

Yayasan Tenaga Nasional has been committed to developing outstanding individuals through its scholarship-sponsorship programme in higher education since 1993. In these 28 years, more than RM1.2 billion has been contributed to aid deserving students. As many as 18,000 students have achieved their dreams thanks to the educational assistance provided by the foundation.

Yayasan Tenaga Nasional aims to create equal opportunities for all Malaysians to fulfil their educational aspirations. The scholarships are offered for pre-university and bachelor’s degree courses in selected fields.

At Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), the pre-university and bachelor’s degree courses that are applicable for scholarships include:

• Power Electrical Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering and
• Civil Engineering.

Scholarships are also available for four non-engineering courses:

• Computer Science
• Accounting
• Finance and
• Business Studies.

Yayasan Tenaga Nasional understands there is always a demand among school-leavers who dream of studying abroad. For this reason, the foundation is offering the Overseas University Program Scholarship.

This scholarship covers bachelor’s degree courses in:

• Power Electrical Engineering
• Accounting and Finance and
• Data Science and Analytic.

Yayasan Tenaga Nasional encourages interested and qualified students to apply for the Overseas University Program or UNITEN’s Scholarship for the 2021 intake.

The scholarships are targeted towards Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) leavers who want to start their pre-university or bachelor's degree at UNITEN or universities overseas.

Below are the requirements for each scholarship:

UNITEN Scholarship

• Age not exceeding 19-years-old on 1 Jan 2021
• Active in co-curricular activities
• Possess leadership qualities and characteristics
• Does not have any siblings currently under Yayasan Tenaga Nasional scholarships
• Pass SPM by obtaining a minimum A in English and Mathematics and a minimum A- in at least 4 subjects according to the requirements of your preferred field of study.

Overseas University Program

• Age not exceeding 19-years-old on 1 Jan 2021
• Active in co-curricular activities
• Possess leadership qualities and characteristics
• Does not have any siblings currently under Yayasan Tenaga Nasional scholarships
• Pass SPM by obtaining a minimum A in English (GCE-O), minimum A in at least 8 subjects according to the requirements of your preferred field of study.

What You Should Look Out For?

There are three main stages that applicants need to go through:

Application

Interested applicants can register and submit applications online at https://ytn.tnb.com.my/ before 20 June 2021.

Interview

Please check the Yayasan Tenaga Nasional’s website to find out if you are one of the shortlisted candidates for an interview.

 Results

The successful candidates will be announced on the Yayasan Tenaga Nasional’s website within three months.
