The International Business Idea Challenge 2025 (IBIC 2025) concluded successfully on 23 January 2025 at the Melaka campus, marking a significant milestone in fostering student innovation and sustainable enterprise solutions. The closing ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Wong Eng Kiong, Melaka Campus Director and Vice President of Student Experience and Entrepreneurship Development (SEED), alongside Dr. Hasmida Jamaluddin, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business (FOB). Prof. Wong also took the opportunity to visit the project showcase, further highlighting the event’s impact.

IBIC 2025 provided a dynamic platform for students to present innovative and sustainable projects aimed at addressing global challenges. Led by Mr. Vincent Chan and Ms. Ikha Fadzila from FOB, the competition brought together first-semester students to develop solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Industry leaders from MRANTI, Cyberview, Vesbo, and SAMENTA evaluated the projects, bringing valuable insight to the process. The event was further supported by Dr. Yeo Sook Fern, Director of the Centre of Excellence in Innovation and Communication.

The event saw impressive achievements, with Team The Storyteller Card Game emerging as the champion and walking away with a cash prize of RM500. Team JM secured first runner-up, while Team Jobify: Pathways to Prosperity claimed second runner-up, receiving RM300 and RM200, respectively. In addition, the event recognised outstanding individuals with the Best Presenter awards, honoring four exceptional presenters who showcased their skills in articulating their ideas.

Ultimately, IBIC 2025 succeeded in fostering awareness of innovation’s role in tackling global challenges and underscored the importance of sustainable solutions. Congratulations to all the participants for their hard work and creativity.

Well done!
