The Human Resource Ministry is trying to resolve the growing rate of unemployment among nursing graduates from private higher learning institutions in the country.
Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said currently there were about 8,000 nursing graduates who have not been able to secure jobs.
“This phenomenon is because of the low quality of nurses, including poor language proficiency and nursing skills and training. Because of this, most of them have been unemployed for at least two years since their graduation,” he said after presenting letters of congratulations to 50 newly-hired nurses and appreciation certificates to hospitals which hired the nurses under the MyCareer programme.
