Free skills upgrading training to improve employability of unemployed graduates

  • After completion, a certificate and opportunities to be employed will be provided
In response to the unemployment crisis, the government has sponsored a programme to improve the employability of unemployed graduates. Last year, 44,391 fresh graduates reported to be jobless.Called the Graduate Career Accelerated Programme (GCAP), the six-week training offers skills upgrading that will transform graduates into highly employable executives for the services management industry. The training starts from 9am to 6pm and is described to be intense, experiential and interactive. Besides from speeding up development, this is intended to teach students how to learn.GCAP is sponsored by TalentCorp of the Prime Minister's Office and the programme is managed by MyPartnersSdnBhd and designed and delivered by Scicom Education Group. The programme will teach students to make presentations like a professional, handle job opportunities confidently, master professional workplace skills and acquire right emotional intelligence for career acceleration.According to Jude Mohan, Scicom Education Group Chief Operating Officer, the classes are conducted in English, with special emphasis to improve oral communication skills. He added that equipping students with the fundamental skills and techniques of communication can help students attain a new level of confidence.The training will be held all over the country and at some training venues, accomodation may be provided and the trainees will also receive daily allowance. There will be an average of 20 to 35 students per class.The graduates will be awarded certificates and would be referred to a host of companies to offer them an opportunity for employment.Interested applicants can visit this website or email [email protected] or call 03-21764888.
