The ECER (East Coast Economic Region) development is expected to create 20,000 jobs in various sectors.
To date, the investments in the development has reached RM9b, which almost fulfils its full-year target of rm10b
Up until December, ECER created more than 27,000 jobs
The development consists of projects in sectors such as hospitality, manufacturing, education and aquaculture and are expected to create jobs in these sectors as well.
The Mersing Laguna Project alone, which is an integrated ecotourism resort, is expected to create 12,000 jobs by the year 2014.
