ECER development to create 20,000 jobs
- The ECER (East Coast Economic Region) development is expected to create 20,000 jobs in various sectors.
- To date, the investments in the development has reached RM9b, which almost fulfils its full-year target of rm10b
- Up until December, ECER created more than 27,000 jobs
- The development consists of projects in sectors such as hospitality, manufacturing, education and aquaculture and are expected to create jobs in these sectors as well.
- The Mersing Laguna Project alone, which is an integrated ecotourism resort, is expected to create 12,000 jobs by the year 2014.
