Earn your college degree in Japan through JAD programme

Want to immerse yourself in the Japanese culture? The Japanese Associate Degree (JAD) programme is a special project by the Malaysian government to provide scholarships for Bumiputera students to further their studies in Japan. Introduced by HELPII, JAD programme follows an improvised 3+2 twinning programme model, where the students study 3 years (1 year matriculation) in Malaysia for diploma, then with the transfer credit practice, students continue for degree in Japan for 2 years. Deadline for this year is 27 February.

AS TABLE

Yayasan Pelajaran Mara (YPM) as the executing agency collaborates with Universiti Industri Selangor (UNISEL) to obtain accreditation from the National Accreditation Board (LAN) of Malaysia for a three-year Engineering diploma programme in Malaysia. At the end of the 3 years in Malaysia, successful students will be awarded the Diploma of Mechanical Engineering in Technical Japanese or Diploma of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Technical Japanese by UNISEL. Thereafter, qualified students will be transferred to Year 3 Engineering Undergraduate programs of selected Japanese Universities, whom are members of the Japanese University Group - HELP III (JUG-HELPIII). After successful completion of the final 2 years in Japan, the students will be conferred the Degree of Engineering by the participating Japanese universities.

Who is qualified?

  • SPM leavers
  • Must have excellent results in the SPM examination
  • Interested to take up Engineering (mechanical, electrical, electronic)
