At this season's Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week, eight fashion design students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) opened the runway by showcasing their innovative apparel designs (see image below).

UITM8

Called UITM8, the nostalgic collection features Fiq Farhan's abstract geometric print infused creation; Safira Syukri's stripes and polka dots adorned twee pieces; Fadla Salim's figure-enhancing, colorblock dresses; and Zaimi Zulkafli's belted fluid silk dresses. A look into the past and future were the themes of Shannel Harun and Fiq Bah. The elegant evening dresses of Harun showcased the glamour of 1920s fashion while conical head pieces of Bah were definitely attention grabbers. Wan Aizat Ghani, meanwhile, proves that printed clothing (horse prints) can be high fashion.
