Malaysia will be in need of 56,000 experts and professional in the Islamic financial service sector by 2020, says the Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA), an agency offering accreditation certificates for study programmes in the financial service sector in Malaysia.
The Chief Executive Officer for FAA, Dr. Amat Taap Manshor said that the need for experts in the sector is in parallel with the national agenda in steering Malaysia towards becomng an Islamic finance hub in ASEAN and throughout the world.
FAA has been collaborating with local banks and government agencies such as the Prime Minister Department and the Ministry of Education along with public and private universities so they will look forward towards accreditation in the related programmes.
"Until today Malaysia is stil facing a lack in professional in this sector although we are continously seeing a positively increasing demand," he said.
