Young Aces Technical College, an exciting and innovative vocational learning centre officially launched.

Young Aces Technical College (YATC) recently officially launched its vocational learning centre. The launch was graced by Tengku Syarif Temenggong Perlis, Dato’ Seri Diraja Syed Amir Abidin Jamalullail and Che Puan Temenggong Perlis, Datin Seri Diraja Farinawati Datuk Mohd Din.

YATC is an innovative and dynamic automotive career school accredited by the Department of Skills Development in the Ministry of Human Resource (JPK) Malaysia and The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) from the UK, to provide quality technical training and up-skilling automotive programmes that meets the needs of employers now and in the future.

The 40,000 square feet integrated college located in Segambut, Kuala Lumpur currently offers a range of motor vehicle courses --  IMI International Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance in 3 progressive levels and Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) in Level 2 and Level 3. The courses’ content range from diagnosing and rectifying, to service and repair; in-depth knowledge and skills in materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the industry; body repair and more. The campus is equipped with the latest automotive diagnostic equipment and local, Japanese and Continental cars to ensure students gain relevant, up-to-date skills, with graduates ready to enter the workforce.

Since early this year, YATC have recruited more than 40 students from all over Malaysia and aim to achieve 100 enrolments by June 2017, an encouraging kick-start for a young vocational arm. YATC is supported by a team of qualified and seasoned educators and trainers with a combined experience of more than 50 years in the industry. The college provides a good mix of on-the-job training with approximately 70% practical learning and 30% theory.

The launch was also attended by Leona Chin, celebrity female drifter and motorsport athlete as well as YATC partners from Mintye Industries Berhad, the Department of Skills Development (JPK) Malaysia and SkillsMalaysia.
