An Indonesian academic sold his anti-cancer discovery to Singapore, upon slow reaction from local government.
Founder of the electro-capacitive cancer therapy (EECT) Professor Warsito Purwo Taruno signed a contract with the Singapore government to allow research, development, production and export of the anti-cancer technology worldwide.
Indonesian Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Mohammad Nasir underlined the dilemma on the product being considered a Singaporean technology instead of Indonesia. According to him, it should still be labelled as an Indonesian-made product because the country was the first to award recognition to the ECCT and ECVT technology that was invented by Warsito.
Warsito’s invention and skills-training to use the equipment early this month has been anticipated in several countries including Poland, Canada, USA, Australia, Malaysia, Russia, Sri Lanka and India.
Before this, Warsito was forced to end his staff’s employment and close his cancer clinic which had previously treated many cancer patients due to the order of the Indonesian Ministry of Health. The Ministry raised concerns that his clinic equipments have not been approved.
