Awards for 14 students under Securities Commission

The rigorous selection process came from a versatile pool of applicants from all over Malaysia. Selected applicants were assessed based on a number of criteria including academic track record, co-curricular activities, leadership qualities, communication skills, personality traits and family background.

The SC scholarship covers full academic fees, books, subsistence and miscellaneous allowances and other related costs.

The selection process included 5 rounds of interviews to assess students on all their attributes, capabilities and personality to determine the fittest and the most prepared candidate.

The Securities Commission Malaysia scholarship was founded in 1996 and has been sponsoring the best and brightest students to study Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Finance, International Business, and Law locally or abroad. It will personalise the sponsorship to meet individual students demands which depends on the route of education and the university of choice. For instance, if the student is qualified and received an admission to study at an Ivy League university, the cost would be very different from other universities.

Scholars under this programme are expected to intern at the Securities Commission during semester break or summer holidays to familiarise themselves with the values, practices, regulations and policies of the organisation. Scholars are expected to commit to serve the SC for a stipulated period upon the completion of their tertiary education.

This initiative serves SC's long-term and talent pipeline that would strengthen the corporate image and reputation as an employer of choice.
