Application for KPT Politechnic (December 2011) is open

• Jabatan Pengajian Politeknik, Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi (KPT) invites eligible candidates to apply for Politeknik KPT's certificate, diploma, advanced diploma and skills certificate (special needs people) programmes for the December 2011 intake.
• There are currently 54 diploma programmes and four advanced diploma programmes that are offered at KPT Politechnic.
• There are two intakes in a year; once in the middle of every year, and another time in the end of the year.
• Application for the December 2011 intake of KPT Politechnic will only go through Politechnic. There are currently 88,000 students enrolled into the programmes offered by the 27 KPT Politechnics across Malaysia.

Categories:

(a) Premiere Politechnic - produces innovative graduates who are highly marketable and industry-driving.

(b) Conventional Politechnic - TVET programme will produce skilled and high knowledgable workers.

(c) Metro Politechnic - focuses on fields that specialise in service.

Eligibility:

(a) Malaysian;

(b) Requirements for:

- SPM qualification or equivalent

- KPT Politechnic certificate qualification or equivalent

- KPT College Community qualification or equivalent

- KPT Politechnic diploma qualification or equivalent

- Matriculation College (Science stream) qualification

- Special Education (Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia) qualification

(c) Unsuccessful candidates or accepted candidates who did not register at the designated Politechnic in the

intake before can reapply is they are still interested.

(d) Applicants need to buy a pin number from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) before filling in the e-Borang.

How to apply:

Online Application

1. Applicants with the following qualifications can apply online:

- SPM qualification or equivalent

- KPT Politechnic certificate qualification or equivalent

- KPT College Community qualification or equivalent

- KPT Politechnic diploma qualification or equivalent

- Matriculation College (Science stream) qualification

* If applicants experience problems applying online, they are advised to fill in the e-Borang at another time due to

the server being overcrowded.

Upfront Application

1. Applicants for Metro Politechnic can only apply upfront as they need to attend counselling and qualification

processing before entering Metro Politechnic.

2. Applicants need to bring the original and verified photocopy of the following documents:

(a) identification cards,

(b) SPM certificate,

(c) cocurricular certificates/ documents

3. Applicants from Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan and Johor Bahru will be given preferrence.

Special Application

1. Special needs applicants (hearing problems) are Form Five leavers from Sekolah Pendidikan Khas, sponsored

by Bahagian Pendidikan Khas, KPM or Program Pencantuman Pendidikan Khas under the KPM.

2. Application forms are provided at the Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri or Bahagian Pendidikan Khas (KPM). All

application forms must be sent to the Bahagian Pendidikan Khas (KPM).

Sponsorship

(a) Diploma students will be sponsored by the Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) loan.

(b) First semester diploma students can apply for the Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) scholarship based on

eligibility and academic excellence of their SPM.

(c) Students may receive sponsorship from various sectors and agencies.

(d) Orang Kelainan Upaya (OKU) students will receive a special allowance, without condition. Only registered OKU

students with the Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) will receive this allowance.
