Afterschool
March 1, 2017
This programme is merely the first step in Afterschool's initiative to share information about their platform for sharing educational information with the counsellors. The partnership focuses on how Afterschool can help students determine the direction of their futures after SPM or STPM, either in terms of selecting the right course, choosing a pre-university course, and so on. In light of the newly formed partnership, these attendees would then be able to spread the information to their respective students.
Many of the teachers and perhaps even yourself, recognise Afterschool as an education portal through social media, namely Facebook. In actual fact, Afterschool not only provides the aforementioned platform for the steady feed of education news through social media, but through the publication of three magazines each year as well, namely 'SPM Revision Guide', 'Top Careers' and 'Panduan Masuk IPT'.

The 'SPM Revision Guide' is a magazine that shares compiled SPM exam questions from the 5 previous years. The questions include trial SPM and actual SPM questions. The combination aims to help students to prepare for their actual SPM examination.
The second education magazine is Top Careers, with all 10,000 copies being distributed to selected schools for free. The aim of this particular publication is to help students choose the right course based on the current top industries which provide employment opportunities in addition to lucrative salaries when they graduate.
The third education magazine is the 'Panduan Masuk IPT'. This magazine contains a whole list of public universities in Malaysia, facts about the pre-university programmes such as foundation programmes, matriculation, STPM, diploma programmes and the 'Program Pendidikan Program Persediaan Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perguruan' (PPISMP), eligibility, how to apply to UPU, as well as other private institutions in Malaysia that offer technical and vocational programmes. The aim of this publication is to help students choose courses according to their interests in addition to their qualifications as well as ways to apply on the official application for admission using the UPU portal.

We at Afterschool would humbly like to extend our gratitude towards the support teachers for their support. Not only was positive feedback graciously received, many teachers also invited Afterschool counselors to provide Careers Talk to their students.
