On Thursday, another cluster involving an educational institution was recorded in Ranau, with a total of 32 cases. The Debut Timbua Cluster, according to Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, began with a male teacher who tested positive for Covid-19 by self-test.
"Further investigation and screening of close relationships revealed the presence of another 31 affected persons."

A cluster was detected yesterday at Tuaran's Institute of Teacher Education Kent Campus, with 27 students affected. Meanwhile, Masidi said that 329 new Covid-19 instances were reported in Sabah, with Kota Kinabalu leading the way with 73 cases, followed by Tuaran (53), Penampang (31) and Ranau (31). (23).
He claimed that one of the "Group of Four" districts, Kota Belud, was the only one in the group with only 16 instances.
"Sixteen districts had single-digit instances, and only Semporna had zero new cases," said a representative for Sabah's Covid-19.
Masidi noted that while 15 districts reported an increase in new cases, only two showed a significant increase, namely Kota Kinabalu (+20) and Penampang (+11).
Eleven districts saw a drop, with Tuaran (-23), Beaufort (-13), and Ranau (-11) experiencing double-digit drops.
Masidi went on to say that 97% of the patients were in Categories 1 and 2, with one in Category 3, two in Category 4, and none in Category 5. The State Health Department was still evaluating seven patients.
