61,859 candidates to sit for STPM 2013

A total of 61,859 candidates will sit for the third term of the 2013 Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination at 773 centres nationwide beginning Wednesday until November 18.

60,474 candidates are from government schools, 752 from private schools, 623 private candidates and nine from state government schools.

This batch, according to the Malaysian Examination Council (MPM) is the first go through the new assessment system introduced in 2012.

The repeat examination for the first term of the 2013 STPM will be held from Nov 19-25 involving 39,289 candidates while the repeat examination for the second term is scheduled from Nov 26 to Dec 2 involving 39,094 candidates.

Meanwhile, 75,098 candidates will sit for the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) at 664 examination centres nationwide on Nov 23
