Did you know that there are many ways you can specifically prepare for an English exam right outside the hall?
Make a habit of having a warm drink, such as lemon tea and recite a prayer or meditate the morning before exam time.
Jog in the early morning and do a little physical stretching outside the exam hall. Loose shoulders will show through your posture and confidence when speaking.
3. Submerge in the environment
Surround yourself with friends who speak English (or make the conscious effort to do so) and listen to your favourite English music while doing exercises.
Often students neglect their mouth muscles and can get tongue tied during a speaking test. Try singing, humming, make chewing motions or practicing tongue twisters before the exam.
If you see someone you don't know outside the hall, this is the time to say hi, introduce yourself and practice your social skills, useful during the speaking component.
You will usually know who your group members are for the speaking test (especially for MUET). Build rapport and practice eye contact by playing simple games.
