This was stated by the Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya who said that the pressure was caused by various factors such as their failure to adapt to the different situations while studying abroad compared to the actual scenario in the country.

"Some countries where the Malaysian students learn do not allow our graduates to see and treat patients and simply learning via module. So they never disclosed the actual method of treatment.

"Compared to the doctors (medical students) who studied in Malaysia, they are more receptive and have been familiar with the real situation in public or private hospital," he told reporters.

In addition, Dr Hilmi said the different terminology used may have caused confusion among young doctors in Malaysia after they return to serve the country.

"The pressure is increased by the attitude of some senior doctors who bully young doctors so many who suffer emotional distress decide to quit," he said.

He advised the young doctors to employ the services of experts to relieve the pressure they face. - Bernama, May 14, 2015.
