218 students receive financial aid from Petronas

Of these recipients, 22 students were awarded scholarships under the Petronas Education Sponsorship Program (PESP).

A total of 218 students in Sabah received scholarships and educational assistance during the 2015 Petronas Education Awards Ceremony presented by Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

In addition, through the BUDI programme, Petronas expands their cooperation with MARA by providing an annual education allowance to 150 students from poor families studying at the MARA Junior Science College Sabah.

A total of 46 students from six technical institutes in Sabah also received vocational training scholarships under the Institute for Vocational Education and Training (VISTA) sponsorship programme.

Since the beginning of this education programme in 1974 until now, Petronas has spent RM2.9 billion to sponsor a total of 35,000 students nationwide.
