107 thousand fresh graduates out of jobs this year

Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Abd. Muttalib explains the importance of SL1M programme.

A total of 73.609 graduates have been trained through the 1Malaysia Training Scheme (Skim Latihan 1Malaysia/SL1M), the program provided by the Malaysian government for graduates to increase their marketability since 2011 until March this year.

Datuk Seri Ismail said as many as 107,000 unemployed graduates were recorded in the first four months of this year that occured due to low academic qualifications, not enough interest in the job offered in addition to a mismatch the field of study at the university.
