COURSE OVERVIEW

Foundation Science is designed to prepare students who wish to pursue their career in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy or other related degree courses. The country’s economic growth has given a large impact on the health system in Malaysia especially the demand for a quality health services. Thus, this programme is offered in line with the government’s policy to increase the quality of services in the biological and health science sector by combining the knowledge, technology, and humanity skills. With the emergence of new hospitals in the government and private sectors, the need for trained workers in the field of medical science is critical. Subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English taught to the students will prepare them for problem-based learning for their higher education in local universities or abroad.

For student that will further their study into Bachelor programme in Medicine

A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia / Vokasional (SPM / SPMV) / O-Level;
Five (5) credits (minimum B) in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics OR Additional Mathematics and any other subject;
Credit in Bahasa Melayu and English;
Obtained a pass in History.

For student that will further their study into Bachelor programme in Dentistry or Pharmacy

A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia / Vokasional (SPM / SPMV) / O-Level;
Five (5) credits (minimum B) in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and Biology OR other technical subjects.
Pass in Bahasa Melayu and English
Pass in History.

For student that will further their study into Bachelor programme in Allied Health Sciences

A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia / Vokasional (SPM / SPMV) / O-Level
Five (5) credits including three (3) from the following subjects: Biology / Physics / Mathematics / Chemistry / English.
Obtained a pass in History; OR
Pass in Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with Grade B in three (3) subjects
