COURSE OVERVIEW

Diploma in Architecture is a collaboration programme between Widad College and University Technology Malaysia (UTM).

It is the first part of the Architect's training where professionally; architectural training requires a minimum of seven years and consists of three parts. The first two parts is completed in academic institutions. The third part is a minimum two years period of working experience that enables a candidate to sit for professional Part III Examination, just like Bar exams for lawyers.The Program aims at nurturing students' creativity, understanding of the nature and demands of design activities, skills in visual communication, knowledge of various architectural theories, and abilities in professional practice as well as an appreciation of the values of scientific research. The programme also addresses the generic skills and capabilities necessary to compete in the employment market.

Students who have successfully completed the course can find employment in the private and public sectors as:
  • Assistant Architect
  • Interior Designer
  • Draughtsman
Graduates are able to pursue bachelor degree at any potential colleges and universities.

SPM / SPMV

Passed SPM / SPMV with 3 credits inclusive of: Bahasa Melayu Any other two (2) subjects Obtained a pass in Mathematics

 

Diploma will be awarded by UTM during the convocation at UTM Skudai
