The Multimedia industry is growing and professionals in this field are highly sought after by publishing houses, academic institutions, retailers, entertainment industry, gaming industry, professional training consultancies, software development houses and video conferencing service providers.This programme gives graduates the technical knowledge to design websites, computer games, graphics and animation to become multimedia specialists.
Entry Requirements
(1) Regular Entry Candidates must fulfil one of the following criteria: ? Grade C (SGP 2.0) in at least two (2) subjects / two (2) Principals in STPM / HSC / A-Level ? Five (5) Grade Bs in UEC Senior Middle III ? An approved / accredited Creative Multimedia Diploma (minimum CGPA 2.5 out of 4.00) and subject to internal assessment ? An approved Foundation / Matriculation qualification (minimum CGPA 2.00 out of 4.00) from other private and public universities in Malaysia ? Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysia Government
(2) Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) provides an opportunity for individuals with working experience but lack of formal academic qualifications to pursue their tertiary studies. APEL involves the identification, documentation and assessment of prior experiential learning to determine the extent to which an individual has achieved the desired learning outcomes, for access to a programme of study. Applicants should comply with the following admission criteria stipulated by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA): ? The candidate should be at least 21 years of age in the year of application and possess relevant work experience.
PMR/SPM/MCE/UEC or equivalent qualifications subject to an assessment of work experience, prior learning experience (Certificate Attestation (CA) + Work Experience (WE)) and/or a diagnostic test to assess the academic aptitude, interest and suitability for tertiary level studies.
Candidates who are found not to have demonstrated the capacity to undertake tertiary studies will be required to undergo and successfully complete a Head start programme. Note: Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a mechanism to assess the prior learning (formal or informal learning experience) of a student. RPL comprises the following steps:
CA + WE (if pass proceed to degree; otherwise have to undergo Diagnostic Test)
Diagnostic Test (if pass proceed to degree; otherwise have to undergo Head start Programme)
Headstart Programme (if pass proceed to degree)
