COURSE OVERVIEW

The School of Civil Engineering offers a full-time 4-year undergraduate programme leading to the award of BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING (CIVIL) degree. The curriculum has been developed with the following aspirations;

1. To enhance the quality of learning and teaching in the academic environment;

2. To disseminate engineering sciences which focused on quantitative, problem solving, design and engineering practice

3. To incorporate the generic skills which include communication skill, leadership, social and environmental responsibilities awareness.

4. To embed research attributes in courses

The curriculum provides competence graduates that satisfy the needs of industry. The effectiveness and quality of the curriculum is enhanced with proper assessment techniques on every course. The curricular approach, the educational content and the teaching-learning and assessment methods are appropriate, consistent with, and support the attainment to achieve the Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO), as described in the Section 3 and the preceding paragraphs.

GENERAL UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS

• A pass with credit in Bahasa Melayu at SPM level/July Paper or,

• For those who do not obtain credit in Bahasa Melayu in SPM, need to retake for SPM July Paper and obtain credit before graduated and,

• Obtain Diploma/Matriculation KPM/Foundation UTM/Foundation equivalent and recognized by Malaysia Government/STPM/STAM/DVM or others qualification recognized by Malaysia Government or,

• Pass APEL A and,

• Attained a minimum Band 1 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) in period of 2 years of studies

SPECIFIC PROGRAMME REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma/Equivalent min CCGPA 2.75 or

• Matric/Foundation min CGPA 2.60

• STPM min CGPA 2.60 & Grade B- (NGMP 2.67 in Mathematic & Physic and

• Math SPM C

• Muet Band 2

• Physic SPM C

English Requirements

Students must obtain:

A band score of 5.5 and above in IELTS; OR
A score of 500 and above in TOEFL or 59 and above in TOEFL IBT; OR
Completion of ELS Certified Intensive English Programme (CIEP) Level 107 or higher
