COURSE OVERVIEW

The Bachelor of General Studies is a new academic programme offered by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The programme provides individuals with an opportunity to learn across five main areas. These include management, science, computing, technology and humanities, getting the best of higher education from all the faculties in UTM. Through a structured 4-year undergraduate curriculum, learners cultivate their lateral thinking to operate in a multidisciplinary environment. Therefore, this programme helps our undergraduates’ progress in government agencies and enterprise, pursuing their postgraduate studies as well as leading the change in industries, communities and societies. This special academic programme also offers flexibility for working professionals who are keen to upgrade and improve their skills, creating an excellent lifelong learning pathway.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Detailed entry requirements

Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM)

  • Grade C (NGMP 2.00) for General Studies; AND
  • Grade C (NGMP 2.00) for TWO (2) other subjects

SPM & MUET

  • Passed the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM/ Equivalent) with at least Credit in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia; OR
  • Credit in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia July Paper; AND
  • Obtained at least Band 2 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

Diploma or Equivalent

Obtained a Diploma or any other Equivalent Qualification Recognized by the Malaysian Government and Approved by the University Senate

MOE Matriculation/ UA Foundation/ US Foundation or Equivalent

CGPA ? 2.00

Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM)
