PhD students are registered for a minimum of two years and produce a thesis of up to 100,000 words. Progress is assessed annually and failure to pass the annual review will result in termination of the degree, or down-grading to an MPhil.
Students may also pursue an MPhil, resulting in a 60,000 word thesis. The MPhil is usually completed in two years.
Entry Requirements
PhD: Entry requirements are at the discretion of the School but would normally be a masters degree or equivalent professional experience/prior learning. MPhil : An upper second class honours degree (or international equivalent) in the relevant area. Applicants must have graduated from an approved university. Other equivalent qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
English language requirements
IELTS: 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in each element) TOEFL (iBT): 87 (minimum 20 in Speaking and 19 in all other elements) PTE (Academic): 62 (with no less than 55 in each element) IELTS and TOEFL test results must be less than two years old and all IELTS must be the academic version of the test.
