UM’s Bachelor of Accounting (BAcc) programme is recognized both nationally and internationally. The programme is recognised under Schedule 1 Accountants Act 1967. Graduates of this programme are eligible to register as members of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), subject to three years of practical accounting experience, as stipulated in Part IV of the Accountants Act 1967. In addition, the programme is also recognised by other international professional accounting bodies.

A-Level, AUSMAT and IB
REQUIREMENT 1
Passed the GCE A-Level with at least grade B in two (2) of the following subjects:
and
Obtained at least Band 3 in MUET
or
Obtained at least Band 4.5 - 5 in IELTS (Academic)
Obtained score of at least 477 - 510 (PBT)/153 - 180 (CBT) / 53 - 64 (IBT) in TOEFL.
Passed the interview
NOTE: Candidates may apply using Advanced Subsidiary (AS) examination results. A-Level examination results should be submitted later once it has been obtained.
OR
REQUIREMENT 2
Passed the Australian Matriculation programme (AUSMAT) with at least Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 80 percent; and
Obtained 16 point (High Achievement) at the AUSMAT level in two (2) of the following subjects:
REQUIREMENT 3
International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) with at least 35 point score
Obtained grade 5 (Higher Level)at the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) level in two (2) of the following subjects:
Diploma/Equivalent
Science and Arts Stream
Possess a Diploma from any institution recognized by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the University’s Senate with at least CGPA 3.30;
Obtained at least Grade B+ at the Diploma level in one (1) of the following subjects:
Obtained at least Grade B+ for Mathematics at SPM level;
Obtained at least Band 2 in MUET
Passed STPM not in current year with at least CGPA 3.30 and obtained at least grade B+ at the STPM level in one (1) of the following subjects:
Passed the Matriculation/ Foundations not in current year with at least CGPA 3.30 and obtained at least grade B+ at the Matriculation/ Foundations level in one (1) of the following subjects:
Obtained at least a grade of credit at the SPM level in Mathematics;
Matriculation/Foundation
Science and Accounting Stream
Passed the Matriculation / Foundation with at least CGPA 3.30;
Obtained at least Grade B+ at the Matriculation / Foundation level in one (1) of the following subjects:
STPM (Current Year)
