Biomedical Engineering is the application of engineering science and technology to the solution of problems in medicine and biology. It is also crucial in the design and development of medical equipment, connected health system and IT solution in the Healthcare Industries. Some of the applications include designing and producing artificial prosthesis and organs.
This programme aims to produce biomedical engineering graduates in engineering design; biomedical treatment (engineering) and diagnostics; mathematical modelling; computational techniques and programming which include web and database skills and bioformatics; biomedical signal processing; medical imaging; biomechanics and biomaterials and biology for biomedical engineering applications in the clinical and healthcare industries.
STPM with 2 principal passes in Mathematics and Physics Or A-level with minimum 2 passes in Mathematics and Physics Or South Australian matriculation (SAM) with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and grade B in Mathematics and Physics Or Canadian Pre-University with an average of 70% in 6 relevant subjects including 2 Mathematics subjects and Physics Or Unified examination certificate (UEC) with Grade B in 5 subjects including Mathematics and Physics and a pass in English Language
Foundation in Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Or Matriculation certificate, Ministry of Education Or Diploma in Vocational and Technical in the relevant field Or Diploma in Engineering and Technological engineering in the relevant field Or Foundation from other Institutions Of Higher Learning Or Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian government
