The programme produces graduates with knowledge of the Chinese media industry and training in news writing, editing and production in both traditional media (print and broadcast) and new media such as online media, blogs and other social media.
The aim of the programme is to contribute to the growth of the Malaysian Chinese media industry, cultivating discussions on key issues in the public domain on democratic principles in maintaining harmony in a multi-cultural society like Malaysia.
The programme also offers lifelong learning skills that will unable students to critically, objectively and analytically address independent complex problems, issues and current affairs.
A three month of industrial placement will ensure students gain practical experience in equipping them for the working world.
STPM with minimum 2 principal passes in the relevant subjects Or A-level with minimum 2 passes in the relevant subjects Or South Australian matriculation (SAM) with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) 70 and grade B in 2 relevant subjects Or Canadian Pre-University with an average of 70% in 6 relevant subjects
Foundation in Arts, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Or Foundation in Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Or Diploma/Foundation/Matriculation/Preparatory qualification from other Institutions Of Higher Learning in the relevant filed or Diploma,Tunku Abdul Rahman Universiti college (TAR UC) in the relevant filed
Or Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian government AND a credit in SPM/O-level English Language or Unified examination certificate (UEC) with grade B in 5 relevant subjects including English Language/credit in SPM English Language
