TARSOG's Bachelor of Economics (Hons.) is designed to provide a specialised academic programme due to the presence of market demand for academic, business, government economists as well as economic graduates who are prepared for managerial positions at the local and international levels. This programme combines economics with subjects related to government and public policy. The increasing involvement of private sector organisations in public service delivery makes a thorough understanding of how government operates at different levels an essential element of economics. This programme provides a particularly strong combination between economics, international trade and the process of government which is central to the dynamism and challenges of the modern world. The programme will also develop public administrators who are able to understand economic concepts, principles and theories, analyse them in the context of the dynamic economic, social and political environment and challenges, and apply them in the formulation of viable economic policies to strengthen the nation's economy. Pass in STPM or its equivalent with a minimum grade of C (Grade Point of 2.00) in any TWO (2) subjects and a pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level; OR Pass in A-Level with full pass in any TWO (2) courses and a pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level or equivalent; OR Pass Foundation or Pre-university programme with a minimum of CGPA 2.00 from an institution recognised by the Malaysian Government; OR Pass in The Malaysian Ministry of Education's Matriculation Programme with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR Pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid and a pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level; OR Pass in Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum of B grade in FIVE (5) subjects including a pass in Mathematics and English; OR Diploma with a minimum of CGPA of 2.00 from an institution recognised by the Malaysian Government; OR Pass in International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with a minimum score of 30 points; OR Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government. Note : The requirement for passes in Mathematics and English at the SPM level can be excluded for STPM or STAM candidates if the qualification STPM or STAM includes passes in Mathematics and English Language which exceed or at least are equivalent to the requirement for passes in those subjects at the SPM level. Additional Requirements Credit Bahasa Malaysia and English in SPM and/or MUET Band 2.

International Students TOEFL 550; OR IELTS Band 5.5; OR Pre-U or Secondary Education undertaken in English medium. The validity period for TOEFL and IELTS is TWO (2) years from the date of the award. Malaysian Students Malaysian students who enroll into Universiti Tun Abdul Razak Bachelor's programmes must possess a minimum of Band 2 in their Malaysia University English Test (MUET). University Exit Requirements Malaysian students - MUET Band 4 International students - IELTS Band 6
