This course introduces students to the chemical engineering working environment through seminars from respective personnel and industrial visit to various chemical plants in Malaysia. Assignments and group-based project will be given.This course enables students to understand the basic concept of combustion and related calculations as well as to expose them to the concept of flame, explosion, and detonation and its related safety aspects. In addition, it permits students to explain the use of gaseous fuels and its related energy generating technologies and equipment. The important concept and methods of fuel inter-changeability will be highlighted.
