Courses offered are in line with the recommendations from the Board of Engineers Malaysia. The subjects in the programme strives to produce specific learning outcomes. Students’ theoretical knowledge is acquired through individual and group activities that include lecture sessions incorporating interactive learning, problem-based learning and cooperative learning. Theoretical knowledge is enhanced and reinforced during laboratory sessions that involve analysis and design in some of the experiments.

Self-directed learning and group learning are very much encouraged especially during laboratory sessions, problem-based learning, computer oriented studies, individual and group assignments, engineering practice, industrial training and the one-year bachelor degree project related to electronic engineering.

Assessment of students’ achievements are based heavily on individual performances such as in tests, individual assignments and by undertaking projects that include development, oral presentations, report writing, and final examinations. Group assessment mainly involves laboratory reports, group assignments and presentations.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS



Candidates for the Bachelor of Electronic Engineering in FKEKK must have the following qualifications:

Pass SPM/Equivalent with Grade C in Bahasa Melayu or Credit in Bahasa Melayu July Paper

AND

Pass STPM/Matriculation/Asasi Sains UM/Asasi UiTM with minimum GPA of 2.50

OR

Pass Diploma Degree with minimum GPA 3.30 with related field for other qualifications recognised to be equivalent by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the University’s Senate

AND

obtained at least Band 1 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) BUT compulsory result of BAND 3

Not colour blind and handicapped that can impair practical work

The faculty offers undergraduate programmes in:

- Bachelor of Engineering Electronics with Honours

- Diploma in Electronic Engineering

COURSE DURATION

The Bachelor degree duration is a minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 6 years. The diploma programme duration is 3 years.
