Registration for Graduate Engineer according to Act 138
All graduates that undertake engineering program are ought to register with the Board of Engineers Malaysia. This is in accordance to the regulation form Act 138 under section 10(1)(a)(ii) Malaysian Law as mention below:
(10) (1) (a) Subject to this Act, a person who holds:
(i) Any qualification in engineering which is recognized by the Board, shall be entitled on application to be registered as Graduate Engineer.
Working experience will only be counted after being registered as a recognized graduate engineer, and that will qualify an individual to be registered as a professional engineer.
(10) (1) (b) Subject to this Act, a person who is registered as a Graduate Engineer under paragraph (a) shall be required to obtain such practical experience as may be prescribed by the Board in order to be entitled to apply for registration as a Professional Engineer under subsection (2).
