Students are required to accumulate 4 units of English for graduation
In order to obtain units in English Language courses, students have to pass with a minimum of a Grade C. Otherwise, no units will be awarded.
Students with a Band 6 in MUET must accumulate the 4 units of English from the courses in the post-advanced level [LHP 451 / 452 / 453 / 454 / 455 / 456 / 457/458/459*]. They can also take foreign language courses to replace their English language units but they must first obtain a written consent from the Dean of the School of Languages, Literacies and Translation, USM. [* The number of units for LHP 457 is 4 and for LHP 451, 452, 453, 454, 455, 456, 458 and 459 is 2.]
Students with a score of 179 and below in MUET are required to resit MUET to improve their score to Band 4 or take LMT 100 (Preparatory English) and pass with a minimum of a Grade C.
