This program is specifically focused on the study of the history of Malaysia from the history of the Malacca Sultanate to the political developments in 1990. Emphasis is placed on aspects of Malay historiography, the history of socio-economic as well as the history of Sabah and Sarawak. In addition, emphasis is also given to the history of Southeast Asia before and during colonialism, nationalism, modernization and development in Southeast Asia. Students will also be exposed to the history of the Middle East, Latin American History, U.S. History, East Asian History, European History, Maritime History, Archaeology, History and Operations Australasia and Oceania Tajdid Islah Islamic world.
