This programme aims to train skilled manpower to assist in increasing national agricultural productivity. Through this programme, the latest knowledge in the cultivation and management of food crops, such as rice, corn, tapioca, sago and others, and industrial crops, such as oil palm, rubber, cocoa, coconut and others, resulting from contemporary research is to be collected and delivered to students. The goal of this programme is to produce skilled graduates in the field of crop production. Skilled manpower will be required to carry out strategies in the National Agriculture Policy – 3 to produce agricultural products which are suitable, safe and sufficient for local consumption as well as for world markets.
