In 2005 the marine transport sector in Malaysia had a workforce of 25,000. The activities and services in this sector have contributed to the development of specialized skills and technological capabilities in the undertaking of projects ranging from design, construction, commissioning to repair and maintenance. The prospect and opportunity for UniKL MIMET to play a major role in providing skilled professionals in the discipline of marine electrical and electronic is overwhelming. It is estimated that out of the 25,000 semi-professionals and professionals engaged in the industry, one third or more than 8,000 are in the field of marine electrical and electronic. This figure could be more taking account of those employed in the neighboring countries.

Course Objective:

• produce professionals and highly skilled human capital specializing in Marine Electrical and Electronic to meet the current and future demand of marine related industries in country as well as overseas, and;



• train and develop technical entrepreneurs in the field of Marine Electrical and Electronic who are ready to participate in the related technopreneurial activities.
