This is a three years full-time course and it provides extensive coverage of the technological and managerial aspects of the Automotive Maintenance. The course covers the requirements of the SKM level 1 to level 4. It puts emphasis on work of a practical nature to competence and confidence through active participation in the technological aspects of the automotive industry. The programme is also designed to give students the necessary academic and technical background to continue their studies should they wish to pursue the degree programme.
Graduate SPM / SPMV with at least five (5) credits in the following subjects :
Bahasa Melayu
Mathematics
Science / Technical**
And two (2) other subjects and at least a pass in English.
** Physics / Chemistry / Biology / Science / Additional Science / other technical subjects; OR
Have a Certificate of IKM / ILP / the institute or from institutions recognized by the Senate or certificates that are recognized by the University Senate with at least a CGPA of 2.00 and at least a pass in Bahasa Melayu in SPM; OR
Having the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3 recognized by SDS, and
SPM / SPMV with at least one credit
Their studies to Diploma level in the same field
If necessary, the University of Cape Town should provide a bridging program as a program to help students who shift from sector to sector, academic skills.
